Father Phil reflects on the month of October when we celebrate our patron St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Teresa of Avila. Fr. Phil makes some remarks about following the example of St. Francis, if we are good to the Earth, the Earth will be good to us because it is God's creation. In this context, one hears the inspiring prayer for peace of Saint Francis "It is by giving that we receive". Check out other Fr. Celebrating Mass this Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time will give us a spiritual recharge and will help us to keep Jesus in our lives. Join us in person or on-line at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, 10:00 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. Sunday, to focus on worshipping God and loving our neighbors.

The reconciliation schedule will remain the same during the closure. Sunday obligation to attend Mass and Holy Days continues to be suspended. In-person gatherings on parish campuses are allowed only for programs of sacramental preparation. This permission for in-person catechetical gatherings does not include adult bible studies, conferences, or special presentations.

A member of our Light a Prayer Candle group will receive your petition and pray for that particular intention. There is no limit to the number of candles you would like to light and there is no charge for these virtual candles.

On Oct. 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Francis published a new encyclical “Fratelli Tutti” (Dear Brothers and Sisters). The pope writes about human friendship and social relationships. He wants us to acknowledge, love, and respect “other” human persons and to do so for the common good.

We are excited to share that the sixth annual Together in Holiness marriage enrichment conference will be held on Saturday, September November 7th, at the St. John Paul II Foundation, on the campus of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter. The conference will also be offered in an at-home format for this year, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, to allow all couples to participate. This one-day conference will include inspiring keynotes presentations from Danielle Bean, and Steve and Becky Green, as well as Eucharistic Adoration, Reconciliation, and Mass.
