Fr. Phil, as the pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Memorial Park, is extremely grateful for the parishioners and friends of St. Theresa's, for their giving, and for helping to continue supporting the mission of the parish, particularly during these difficult times.

The Houston Open Golf Tournament will be held this weekend Saturday, November 7, 2020, and Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Memorial Golf Course. We are expecting a high volume of traffic and limited parking availability, please plan accordingly. Parking in front of the Church will be restricted. Our parking lot in Rodrigo St. will be available.

All weekday morning masses and weekend masses will be streamed on our website at sttheresa.cc/online-mass or on our Youtube channel on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 10:00 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. For more information please visit our website https://sttheresa.cc.

The reconciliation schedule will remain the same during the closure. Sunday obligation to attend Mass and Holy Days continues to be suspended. In-person gatherings on parish campuses are allowed only for programs of sacramental preparation. This permission for in-person catechetical gatherings does not include adult bible studies, conferences, or special presentations.

This Thanksgiving, St. Theresa wants to give back to those in our community by helping at two local charities.

We will be volunteering at the Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen on Friday, November 27th, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Since 1972, this Catholic soup kitchen has served over 10 million meals. Now, with safety practices in place, the soup kitchen cannot allow patrons inside, but volunteers are needed to package and distribute boxed meals. The soup kitchen is limited to 5-8 volunteers per shift at this time. If interested, please email Jackie Dumoit at j.dumoit@sttheresa.cc

Casa Juan Diego plays an integral role in the Houston community, serving marginalized immigrants and refugees. Providing food, temporary shelter, and a health clinic. Casa Juan Diego truly represents Christ's hospitality for all. Our very own Chef Memo will be preparing a meal for the men's and women's shelter and needs your help. You can help him in the kitchen cooking, preparing food, or delivering the meal.

Casa Juan Diego's food preparation will be on Wednesday, November 24th.

Instead of romantic feelings, Christian love is “willing the good of the other.” It’s a decision of the will, rather than a feeling or emotion, and it always carries a dimension of sacrifice. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston continues to serve people in need during the COVID-19 pandemic through all of its programs. Café Catholica Lite: November 19, 2020
The next Café Catholica Lite will be held online on November 19th, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The talk will be about "Blessed Karl of Austria, Emperor of Peace" and will include a personal witness of this kingly saint-to-be by Archduchess Maria-Anna of Austria, Princess Galitzine, the granddaughter of Blessed Karl. The night will also include a brief history refresher by Dr. Christopher Wolfe from the University of St. Thomas. In addition to the talk and Q&A, we will end with communal prayer. Vocations Discernment Event

Ignatian Silent Retreat for Single Young Adults
Retreat is for single young adults ages 18-35. This is an opportunity to set aside some time for silence, to listen to the voice of God, hear inspiring talks and receive guidance for your discernment process, learn the tools of discernment, sharpen discerning skills, and have a one-on-one visit with a spiritual director.
$275 registration fee for a five-day retreat or $200 for a three-day retreat; space is limited. Deadline to register is November 29.

• Five day retreat: Friday, Dec. 4 at 5:00 p.m. until Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 12:00 p.m.
